A Tale Dark and Grimm Week of: 12/9/13

Prompt: Describe the main conflict.
Pages Read: 45-103

I seriously haven't been reading for a long time. I have caught up on my reading, and I am so happy that I have. I remember trying to read this book last year, but I couldn't finish it. Everyone in my homeroom told me that this book was really good, and they tried to spoil it for me. As you can see, this book is different compared to regular fairy tales. Hansel has died because he was a werewolf and someone killed him. Gretel doesn't know what to do anymore, but she has fallen in love. The person she loves isn't a regular guy, he's a killer and she knows that now. She is trapped in his house, and she doesn't know what to do after she saw him kill a girl her age.

The main conflict in this story is that Gretel got involved with a killer guy. She is really scared and doesn't know what to do. His mom is there, telling Gretel what to do and where to hide. She tells Gretel that she is such a pretty girl, but she is such a fool to follow him home. If this was real life, we wouldn't just follow a guy or girl we like to their house! I was just really surprised because she was so shocked after she saw what he did. I feel kind of bad for her, but she did follow him home. It wasn't smart to do that, but again it's a fairytale. She didn't have anything better to do because her brother just died, and she didn't know who killed him. She is going through a hard time, and she really has no clue what she is doing anymore. She is alone most of the time and she is probably sad all of the time. I would be sad if my brother died, but she is not thinking straight.

I predict that Gretel will get into a great amount of danger, but she will survive. I also think that she will learn while she is going through many more dangerous and adventurous adventures. I don't really recommend this book for young kids because this book is full of very detailed problems and stories. It is kind of violent and bloody. I can recommend this book to kids older than 10. I love the book so far, and I know and I hope it will have a great and interesting ending. I like books that make you think, entertain me, and books that are very clever and witty. I have to say that this is one of my favorite books!
