A Tale Dark and Grimm Week of: 12/16/13

Prompt: Describe the important ideas in this story.
Pages Read: 103-172

I am almost done with this book, and it's taking me a while. I just found out that Hansel really isn't dead, but he is going to Hell with the Devil. Gretel almost died because she chased a guy that was a killer. So far this book has been really interesting for me, and I would read it over and over again. This book is full or funny and clever problems that make you want to read more. I think that this is my favorite book because it is exactly what I am looking for in a book. I was just really surprised about what happened to Hansel, he died and then now he is alive. That made me confused just a little bit, I didn't know what to think about at first.

Some important events in this story are that Hansel is going to Hell with the Devil. He will be suffering for all eternity and he doesn't want to go. He has 3 days until he needs to start off to Hell. The Devil had the choice between Hansel and the King. The King is making Hansel go because he doesn't want to die, which is really sad. Hansel had no other choice because he doesn't know where his sister is, he is all alone now, and he almost died already. He just doesn't know what to do with his life anymore so he might as well just go.

I recommend this book to a lot of my friends and family. I chose my family and friends because my family likes the same kind of books that I do, and my friends do too. This book is one of my all time favorite books because it's interesting, heart breaking, and funny. I think that this book is heart breaking because the things that brothers and sisters do for each others to survive. If I was in a life or death situation with my brother, of course I would risk my life for him because he is younger and I care about him. I would do this for anyone because when something bad happens, you must stick together.

  3. I remember reading this book last year in 6th grade and I think you'll like what comes next. To be honest this part of the book was the most shocker for me and the thing is that I was reading this part at midnight, so I got a little creeped out. Are you interested into reading the next book?

  7. Amelia,
Great blog this week, I really enjoyed it! I think the main points you mentioned were really important to the story, and some of the most interesting parts! I love how you talked at the beginning of your blog, a little bit about your experience with the book! I also really liked this book when I read it, and I'm glad that you like it too! Though, maybe next time, talk a little bit more about your prompt, like listing more than one point for your prompt. Overall, great blog this week and I hope you finish the book soon!
