Pages Read: 197-354 DONE!I am finally done. This book was great! I have read every single page, and it didn't tell me what happened to her mother. I was so mad. So, in the book it said that when her little sister, Crikket, was sick, their mother went and got this kind of medicine or spell to heal her. It worked. So Livie knew she had to do something so she went to the same place, and got the medicine. Her mother did not wake up. On the last page it said that Livie's mom didn't need the healing spell, Livie needed it. She has been hurt so many times and she has stayed the same. She knew that she was never healed. I was always wondering why this book was called The Healing Spell.
If I could describe a character that I would like to meet, it would be Livie. I would ask her so many questions like: Did you think your mom would wake up? Or, do you think that you should have told someone? Do you think that your mother is dead or still alive? Do you wish you could go back in time, and change what you did? I would just like to know what was going on through her head, and how she felt about everything. Livie is a strong, emotional girl. I know those two normally don't go together, but here they do. With her family she is strong and she never cries about anything. There are those times that she is very emotional. She cried when she saw her mother twitching. She was always strong when her mother was being cleaned, or dressed because she knew that she would need to stay strong to get through her problems. he never gave up on her mother, she was always having hope, which makes her a strong person. I would definitely love to be in her shoes and see whats he sees, and feel what she feels.
This book is amazing. I would love to read it again. Although there were some parts that were a little confusing, but most of it was good. Everyone in this class should read this book, it is emotional, sad, happy at times, and most of all interesting. I 100% recommend this book to everyone. All of the characters had different problems, interests, and personalities. This book all ties together in the end, and it was just great how the author, Kimberly Griffiths Little, wrote and described this book. It had an interesting plot twist, which made it a great book.
I liked your blog and you described it so well that I know what kind of book it is and I also get really mad when the authors dont tell you what happened.
ReplyDeleteIs there a sequel? If the author just left the book without any real ending, well I just really don't like books that do that. Is the mom dieing or in a coma or something?
ReplyDeleteAmelia,
ReplyDeleteThat is crazy! I can't believe they didn't tell you what happened to her mother! If it was me, I would be so frustrated! On another topic, I love the questions you would like to ask Livie. I think that those are important questions, and maybe some of the answers she would tell you, would reveal some things about the story that you didn't know before! I also like that you told us about where the healing spell came from, and it finally makes sense! I can't wait to read this book, even though I already know what happens! Thanks for the blogs about your book!
