Found Poetry - TKAM

"I wanted you to see what real courage is...
Atticus Finch.

And you know what the truth is.
Atticus Finch.

You just hold your head up high.
Atticus Finch.

Try fighting with your head.
Atticus Finch.

First, apologize.
Atticus Finch.

Don't waste time.
Atticus Finch.

It's hard to explain.
Atticus Finch.

Use your mind.
Atticus Finch."

For my Found poem, I wanted to use Atticus's wise words to create a poem about him. All of the lines used are used to explain his beliefs and how he is. During the trial, he knew that the outcome was not going to be in his favor, but he did it anyway. He used his smarts and his wise thinking to get the truth out of people and it really did benefit him. Mr. Ewell and many other characters Throughout the book he shows determination and he continues to fight for what he believes in. He knows that the difference between right and wrong is, and he shows that in amazing ways.

  1. Amelia,
I really liked the repetition in your poem because it really made an impact by showing how Atticus acted and things he has said. I think that you captured all of Atticus's traits and I think that you portrayed him as a very fatherly figure here. Great Job!
