TKAM - Photo Analysis

In this photo I see four people, one mother, two children, and one man, while the man looks like he is a worker. The man is pouring water from a pail into a cup, all of the members are outside maybe waiting for a meal, the mother and her child are holding a big spoon and there is one little plate on the table. There seems to be a farm in the background because of the dirt, plants, and trees surrounding the people. Also no one really seems to be happy in this photo.

I think that this photo was taken in the early 1900s due to the black and white filter. The family looks like they are part of the middle class, while the man looks like he might belong to the lower. The family, probably owns that farm and the man is working there. The children look excited to get some water and maybe food in the future. All of the members in this picture appear to be light skinned, so they are most likely white. It doesn't seem like the man is a slave, so I'm not sure what the time period is specifically. Overall, it seems like the family is outside for a picnic, and the man is there giving them their water to drink.

Compared to the description of Maycomb County is To Kill a Mockingbird it seems to be an accurate assumption for the setting. There could be houses and farms in the background, but we aren't sure about that. Maycomb seems to be a very small town with houses around each other. There also seems to be a lot of families that live there as well. This picture seems to give a pretty good description of the setting, and how people lived in Maycomb County. The title of this picture is "Table Setting: Cadets mess, Southeastern Air Training Center, Craig Field, Selma, Alabama." This shows that the picture could be around the same time the book was placed in, and the context seems to be the same. The reason why I chose this picture for Maycomb County was because I was going through all of the photos and none of them gave me the same feeling as this one did.
