1st Quarter Reflection Blog

This quarter flew by so quickly, I can't even believe it! In my 40 Book Challenge, I'm doing pretty good so far. I have read 6 books during this school year, and I am really excited about that. I never really enjoyed reading, but now that I have a purpose for reading, I have been doing it a lot more now. I have been reading on my free time, in homeroom, and places that I never thought I would read in. I feel like I have been changing over the years, or at least my opinion about reading has changed. I mean, last year I was very busy and I barely had any time for reading, so that makes sense.

I noticed that my previous blogs (7th grade) were very different in their own way. I was redundant, and a little boring. I would always summarize the book more than needed, or I just didn't really write about my book. I would go on a rant about something totally off topic. Then, I look at my blogs from this quarter, and I have to say, I am pretty pleased with myself. Now that we have to write with a purpose, I have enjoyed writing a lot more than just talking about a random prompt. Of course, I still have things I need to work on, but who doesn't?

In the past, I remember writing my blogs, without knowing what I was talking about! To be honest, sometimes I didn't understand what was going on at the moment. Everyone has those times where you are so confused that you just start talking about random topics. I am really happy that I am no longer confused anymore. In this class in general I have been improving, at least more than last year. So far, this quarter was a positive start for me, and I am really happy with the rode I am taking.

All of these things that I have been saying in this blog post pretty much mean that the 40 Book Challenge has pushed me to work harder, and it has shown me a new purpose for reading. As a whole, I have read 28 books for my 40 Book Challenge. In my opinion, that's a lot for me. I'm really thrilled to see improvement, and I hope that turns into something great in the future.
